Teams client/web unable to unblock internal users

We have come across an issue with users Teams client and web version unable to unblock internal users when they have been added to the Teams blocked contacts list.

The response from Microsoft support is below:

Title: Users migrated from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams may be unable to unblock internal users

User Impact: Users migrated from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams may be unable to unblock internal users.

More info: As a result of this issue, users can't chat with blocked users.

Current status: We've identified that Microsoft Teams doesn't include a feature to unblock internal users after migration. We're identifying a potential method of adding a feature within Microsoft Teams that allows internal users to be unblocked after migration. If this is method is viable, the feature is expected to take approximately a month to complete. We're in the process of pre-development for this feature and expect to provide a more accurate timeline as soon as one becomes available.

Scope of impact: This issue may impact any users migrated from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams attempting to unblock other internal users.

Root Cause: Microsoft Teams doesn't include a feature to unblock internal users after migration.

Hopefully Teams will be updated to allow this functionality soon.
